Cast Story

After hearing about a Cast Member's efforts to improve the Guest experience, I interviewed and wrote a special story highlighting their efforts.

From one Fairy’s tale to another

When children at Magic Kingdom Park lose a tooth, Guest Experience Manager Michael Rubertone uses storytelling and the “Fairy Network” to bring peace of mind to young Guests.

Recently, one of Michael’s fellow Cast Members approached him with concerns about a young Guest who had just lost a tooth while visiting the park. Like many children, this young Guest worried that the Tooth Fairy would not find her so far from home.

After sharing this story with leaders in his area, Michael learned that Guest Relations Cast Members often interact with young Guests who have just lost a tooth. Partnering with Walt Disney Imagineering, he created a custom certificate to mark the occasion.

Now, because of Michael’s influence and imagination, young Guests at Magic Kingdom Park with a loose tooth have nothing to fear. A special Tinker Bell themed-certificate is available at Guest Relations. With Tink's help, young Guests are reassured the Tooth Fairy will know how to find them while visiting Walt Disney World.

Michael believes in the idea that we are a storytelling company.

“Tinker Bell is a fairy, much like the Tooth Fairy, and who knows? They may know each other from Pixie Hollow,” Michael said. “We are here to create magic for our Guests, and in this case, it meant taking the Tooth Fairy’s tale and making it a part of one of our own stories.”
